What Coach does
Coach is designed to be warm and encouraging, and to teach in short, manageable steps.
Coach notes which ideas were shaky and offers a quick review of them at the start of later sessions.
If a mistake comes from an earlier stage, Coach spots it, calls it a foundation gap, and patches that first.

Coach was designed as an extension of the boosters' feedback: the same summary-sheet rules, the same marking style, the same common-mistake notes. Print a booster for paper practice, then use Coach when your child needs it explained.
How it works
No software to install and no instructions to paste. You add one file to Claude, once.

Sign in at claude.ai with your own account (the free plan works). Go to Projects, then New project.

Upload the Coach file for your child's stage (CM_AGENT_S7.md, CM_AGENT_S8.md or CM_AGENT_S9.md) to the project's files. That is the only file.

Check Memory is on (Settings → Memory) and turn on Code execution and file creation (Settings → Capabilities). Memory carries progress; the second setting lets diagrams show.

Open a chat inside the project and type "hi". Coach introduces itself and asks what your child wants to do.
Each stage has its own Coach file, so pick your child's stage. Using more than one stage? We recommend a separate Claude project for each.

Claude's terms require account holders to be 18 or over. So the account is yours: you set it up, run Coach from it, and stay involved while your child uses it.
Coach works on Claude's free plan, diagrams included (turn on Code execution and file creation in Settings → Capabilities). For long study sessions or full mock papers, Claude Pro gives more room before you reach the free plan's limits. See Claude's plans.
Coach is made for Claude only. It won't work in ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot or any other AI app. Set it up on a computer at claude.ai for the smoothest start.
Safety and accuracy
We've taken great care to make Coach child-friendly. Guardrails are built into every Coach file, and its questions, answers and diagrams each get a check before your child sees them. Even so, we recommend a parent supervises. Claude accounts are for adults (18+), so run Coach from your own account and stay nearby, especially in the first few sessions.

Yes. Your child can start from the very beginning of a topic or jump to any point. Coach also checks earlier-stage foundations and patches any gaps it finds before moving on.
Coach is designed to use Claude's memory to pick up between chats and to note weak topics for review. Memory is a Claude feature, so we can't guarantee it saves every time; keep it switched on. If Coach loses track, tell it where you left off and it will carry on from there.
Occasionally, yes. Coach checks its questions, answers and diagrams before showing them, but no AI is perfect. If something looks off, ask Coach to show its working, or check the booster solutions. If it finds its own mistake, it says so and replaces the question.
Coach follows the Cambridge Lower Secondary curriculum for your child’s stage, but schools teach chapters in different orders. Tell Coach what your child is studying now, and it starts there.
