CoreMark Coach is an AI tutor for Cambridge Lower Secondary Stage 9 Maths, Science and Computing that runs in a parent's Claude account. Its strengths are teach-back, detailed marking and reports grouped by idea. Its limits are Claude only, possible mistakes, one file per stage and a price of ₹9,999 per stage for the school year (₹4,999 early bird for the first 100 families, as of 20 October 2026).
Written by CoreMark, which makes and sells Coach. Treat it as a maker's disclosure, not a neutral review. We give no star rating, no testimonials and no claims about marks, because we do not have data we are willing to publish.
Most product pages list benefits and hide the rest. Below, we put the limits next to the strengths and say who should not buy. If after reading this you decide a printed booster or a human tutor suits you better, that is a good outcome.
Who is Coach for, and who should not buy it?
Coach is for a Cambridge Lower Secondary Stage 9 student who needs Maths, Science or Computing explained and marked, with a parent who can run a Claude account and sit in at first. It is not for you if any of these is true:
- You need English, History or another subject. Coach covers three.
- You want something that works offline or on paper. Printed boosters do that and start at ₹249 a topic.
- A tutor you trust already explains and marks the way you need.
- You do not want to run a Claude account as the adult.
What are the five strongest things about Coach?
- It makes your child explain. Learn mode asks them to teach the idea back in their own words, and if the answer is recited or vague, it is designed to teach the idea again with a different example. A teach-back also exposes what a child has not understood, as in the greenhouse effect example.
- It marks working, not just answers. After a paper, it shows method marks and accuracy marks and names the first step that went wrong, which is where most children lose marks.
- Reports are grouped by idea. You see "confused co-interior with alternate angles" instead of eleven crosses, so the next session has a target.
- It looks for foundation gaps. If an error traces back to an earlier stage, Coach says so and patches that first, instead of re-teaching Stage 9 on a shaky base.
- It adjusts to the day. If your child says a paper is too hard, Coach is designed to shorten it or switch to teaching, and exam date mode puts the weakest, highest-value topics first.
What are the five real limits?
- It works only in Claude. Not ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot or any other app. You need an adult's Claude account, since Anthropic requires account holders to be 18 or over, and an internet connection.
- It can be wrong. Coach checks its questions, answers and diagrams, but no AI is perfect. You still need to spot-check marked answers against a worked solution.
- It covers one stage and three subjects. Maths, Science and Computing for Stages 7, 8 and 9 only.
- Memory is not guaranteed. Coach is designed to note weak topics and pick up where you left off using Claude's memory, which is a Claude feature we cannot guarantee. You may sometimes have to tell it what you last covered.
- The edition expires. Each stage's file runs until the end of June, after which Coach signs off for the year.
There is a sixth limit that is not about the product: it is not a person. It cannot read your child's mood or hold them accountable the way a tutor can.
What does it cost, and what else will you pay for?
As of 20 October 2026, Coach is ₹9,999 per stage for the school year, paid once, with no subscription and no auto-renewal. An early-bird price of ₹4,999 applies to the first 100 families. Payment is through Razorpay in rupees.
Beyond that, you need a Claude account. The free plan works according to the Coach page, and Anthropic lists the free-plan limit as a session-based allowance that resets every five hours, so long mock papers may call for a paid plan; Anthropic's pricing page lists its plans. Coach is not free, and we will not call it that.
What do we not know yet?
We have not published results data, so we make no claim that Coach raises marks. There are no independent reviews to point to yet. We cannot say how Coach would behave in any app other than Claude. And we cannot promise that Claude's features, limits and menus will stay as they are.
That is why we suggest a trial of the method before you commit, as the next section sets out.
What should you try before you buy?
- Download the free Stage 8 Algebra booster to judge CoreMark's explanation and marking style on paper.
- Read what is included on the Coach page, including the setup steps and the safety notes.
- Run the ten-minute test in our ChatGPT comparison on a tool you already have, to see which parts of tutoring matter to you.
- Check that you have twenty to thirty minutes on most days to sit nearby for the first few sessions.
- Write to [email protected] with any question before you pay.
How does it compare with the alternatives?
Against a general chatbot, Coach adds structure and costs money; the ChatGPT comparison sets that out. Against Khanmigo, Coach is narrower but built for Cambridge, and in our checks Khanmigo's own pages tie student sign-up to a US billing address; see Khanmigo or CoreMark Coach. Against a human tutor, it is cheaper per hour of use but cannot do what a person does, as the tutor comparison explains. And against our own boosters, the decision guide is candid about who needs only the cheaper option.

Frequently asked questions
That depends on what you would otherwise spend and what your child needs. Coach suits a Stage 9 student who needs explanation and marking, with a parent who can supervise. It is not worth it if your child is in another stage, if a tutor already covers the gap, or if printed practice is enough. Try the free booster first.
We do not make that claim. We have not published results data, and no AI tutor can guarantee marks. Coach is designed to explain topics, set exam-style practice, mark it with method and accuracy marks and bring weak topics back for review. What you gain depends on how often your child uses it and how well you supervise.
Yes. CoreMark is not affiliated with or endorsed by Cambridge Assessment International Education, and Coach is original practice material. Mock papers are Checkpoint-style practice, not official papers. Coach runs in Claude, made by Anthropic, and CoreMark is not affiliated with Anthropic either.
Each Coach file runs until the end of June. After that, Coach signs off for the year and CoreMark emails buyers about the next edition. There is no subscription and nothing renews automatically, so you decide each year whether to buy again.
CoreMark's Terms of Service offer a 7-day money-back guarantee on purchases, by email to [email protected] within 7 days. Those terms were written for the PDF boosters and do not mention Coach by name, so please confirm with us in writing before you buy if a refund matters to you.
Families who need other subjects; families who want offline or paper-only study; and anyone unwilling to run a Claude account as the adult. If a human tutor already marks and explains well, you may not need Coach.
